Handle Your Utensils
Teri Walters and Jessie Ward

The morning will be spent at the forge creating a barbeque fork for the grill or kitchen. Hammer out your utensil while learning how it feels to be working as a blacksmith. In the afternoon personalize your fork handles by choosing your colors and creating your own design using polymer clay. No experience is necessary.

Polymer Bead Making

Learn how to make beads with this incredibly versatile material. Learn techniques of layering, twisting, mixing, stamping, painting, extruding and manipulating to make your own personalized jewelry with very little tools and equipment. No experience is necessary.

The Well-Rounded Jeweler

Monday – Friday, July 7 – 11, 9am – 4:30pm

Come learn some basic jewelry techniques including wire working, chain making, and glass and silver bead making, capped off with Precious Metal Clay as accents. Students will complete several finished pieces including earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. Materials fee will range from $125 to $150, and includes everything needed to complete class projects. Extra materials will be available for a nominal fee.

Wire Wrapped Cabachons

Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, 9am – 4:30pm

During the first day of class, students will cut various patterns and colors of dichroic glass and design their own glass cabachons. The next day is devoted to grinding those cabachons, fired the previous evening, with a glass grinder and jewelry bit and transforming them into necklaces with easy and attractive wire-wrapping techniques. The techniques used in class can be repeated easily at home with equal to better results with practice.

Wirewrapping Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, 9am – 4:30pm

This class covers basic wireworking techniques and projects using them. Learn how to form perfect simple loops, wrapped loops and flat coils. Apply these techniques securely, attractively and functionally. Students will leave with a finished bead, wire bracelet and ornamental pendant. Written instructions with illustrations will be provided along with the option of purchasing extra materials to take home for continued practice.

Jewelry 101

Monday – Friday, July 28 – Aug. 1, 9am – 4:30pm

This class focuses on creating unique and wearable jewelry. Projects include: necklace with matching earrings, bookmarks with beads and tassel and pendants using copper, brass and silver wire. Instructors provide all tools necessary and assist with individual projects. Kits of materials will be made available upon arrival for a fee. No experience is necessary.

Intermediate Millefiori Canework

Saturdays, September 13 and 20, 9am – 4:30pm

Students will jump in to explore more advanced cane work and learn how to manipulate polymer clay to create more personal, unique designs to be used in jewelry pieces, household items and functional gifts. The possibilities are endless. There will be many demonstrations, discussions, and work with different polymer clays. Some experience with cane making, or a previous class with Teri is highly recommended.
