Market Baskets

In this workshop, participants can expect to make and take home a lovely market basket measuring 20” x 13” x 11 ½”. This basket is ideal for gathering fruits and vegetables or to use in your den for magazines.

Three Days: Three Baskets

Learn the gratifying skill of making your own beautiful baskets in three afternoons: “God’s Eye” Basket (13”x 13” x 11 ½”) featuring a crossed handle, “Utensil” Hanging basket (5” x 4 ½” x 10”) and “Flag Basket” (9 ½” x 6” x 13”) stained in walnut with traditional red and blue woven in.

Two Evenings of Basket Wonder

Join us for this two evening workshop where you will learn to make and take home two beautiful baskets: Medium sized “Hearth” Basket (12” x 7” x 10”) Enjoy the tradition of the old days with this herb gathering basket. A “Dome” Basket (18” x 10” x 12”) Copied from an original antique enjoy this beautifully designed recreation.

Basket Making

Each student will learn basic basket weaving skills and will be able to take home a completed basket by the end of class.

Basket Backpacks and Totes

Monday – Friday, August 11 – 15, 9am – 4:30pm

Using sturdy rattan reed, students will weave handsome and useful backpacks and tote baskets. A number of different projects will be offered, so students can find projects to match their interests and skill levels. Expect to complete three or more baskets during this week. All skill levels are welcome.

Cattail Leaf Woven Hat

Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17, 9am – 4:30pm

Weave a hat from native materials. Bulrush and cattail leaves are wonderfully pliable and pleasant to work with. Students will weave the hat over a mold which will become the student’s to keep for future hats.
